Imagine walking on water. That’s what it is like to walk on a bog. A bog is a floating mass of moss that is thick enough to walk on. Jump on it and the surface moves in waves. Some of the rarest plants and animals in the region can be found in bogs, including several orchids, carnivorous plants and more.
Venture into Titus Bog with Audubon. The trip will be led by Tim Lyons, who volunteers with Presque Isle Audubon and the Western Pennsylvannia Conservancy, who jointly own this 80 plus acre bog.
This program is designed for adults. Interested, mature children aged 9 and above are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
